Did You Know Ep 4 - LEDtronics Lighting Helps in Preserving Art

By LEDtronics, Inc.

LEDtronics' has created lighting solutions for many museums and other historic institutions.

LEDtronics recently worked with Farnsworth Art Museum in Main to convert the entire museum from halogen to LED light bulbs. Along with 85% energy savings, the LED bulbs will help in preserving the art displayed throughout the museum.

Standard Halogen and CFL lamps give off heat and UV light which can damage the paper and fade the color of art work. LED bulbs eliminate both heat and UV light in order to create an ideal lighted environment for priceless works of art.LED bulbs can also offer a color temperature closer to natural light to aid in displaying the true color of paintings and photographs.

The Los Angeles County Natural History Museum came to LEDtronics to retrofit the decorative lights of their historic Rotunda building. 250 lights were replaced with two different kinds of bulbs for a minimum savings of 4,000 watts of energy. Along with the funds that can now be used for exhibits and other programs, the LED lights will help preserve the intricate skylight by eliminating the generated heat from the incandescent bulbs.

LEDtronics lighting can benefit museums everywhere by offering energy savings, reducing maintenance costs, improving lighting conditions for Museum patrons and avoid expensive restoration processes by eliminating heat and UV light.
