a new family of high-efficiency, clearly visible in direct sunlight, Super
Bright Blue LEDs. They are available in a wide variety of packages making
them ideal for a host of applications including instrumentation, outdoor
signs and control panel indication.
Designated as the B1K Series, these LEDs are based on a gallium nitrate
semiconductor technology to produce bright blue (450nm) light. A typical
B1K LED emits a luminous intensity of 1,000 mcd of flux and a luminous output
of 1200 micro watts from only 20ma. of current (3.6V) with excellent color
definition.
The Super Bright LEDs are shock and vibration resistant and tolerate temperature
extremes. They perform especially well in applications where reliable bright
light from low-powered resources is required. Their excellent visibility
and ruggedness make them ideal for many applications which may be outdoors
or in brightly-lit environments.
The LEDs are available as T1 (3mm) and T1 3/4 (5mm) to be used in a variety
of packages, however, these parts are not available in discrete form. Designated
as either the BP150CWB1K-040 (3mm) or BP280CWB1K-3.6vf-050T (5mm), these
LEDs are available in both narrow viewing angle (15 degree) and wide viewing
angle (50 degree) versions.
The Super Bright Blue LEDS are also available as direct replacements for
incandescent lamps in panel mount, multi-cluster, candelabra, Edison and
un-based packages.
A BP280CWB1K is priced at $10.00 each (QTY. 500) with availability ranging
from off-the-shelf to 45 days ARO (quantity dependent). Samples are available
