Torrance, CA — LEDtronics®, a world leader in LED Technology, announces
a new series of clear or diffused colored right angle surface mount LEDs
designed to overcome the problems of PCB geography and high density placement.
Sized at 4.2mm x 3.4mm x 3.3mm, these PCB surface mount LEDs — designated
as the SML070 Series — offer a key solution for space starved circuit
board designers involved in critical designs such as PCMCIA cards, cellular
phones, audio/video equipment, pagers, etc.
The LEDs come in a wide spectrum of colors including Red (620nm), Yellow
(590nm) and Green (570nm) as well as bi-color packages, all with a 100 degree
viewing angle. With an illumination area of 2mm x 2mm, luminous intensity
ratings range from 1.2 to 2.3 mcd at a at a forward current of 2ma up to
26 to 50mcd at a forward current of 20ma.These LEDs are 5 to 10 times brighter
at the low forward current of 2ma compared to other 2mm SMT right angle
devices. Ledtronics also makes possible packages that include ultra red,
yellow and super orange colors.
The SML070 Series is fully surface mount reflow compatible and is tape-and-reel
packaged for high speed pick-and-place installations. The SML070 LEDs are
packaged in 2,500 piece industrial standard 13-inch reels. These devices
are also available in bulk. In addition to being shock and vibration resistant,
these LEDs weather unusually high temperatures extremely well.
Priced at $0.69 each in a 2,500 piece industry standard 13-inch reel, the
SML070 LED Series is available from inventory to 45 days ARO (quantity dependent).
Samples are available to qualified customers.
