Did You Know Ep 2 - Providing Light From Buckingham to Broadway

By LEDtronics, Inc.

Over the years, we at LEDtronics have provided LED lighting solutions for many iconic land marks and notable clients.

One of our most notable customers was the Royal family. We collaborated with Bespoke Lighting to aid the family in setting the standard for energy conservation in the United Kingdom. Hundreds of LED bulbs were used to retro fit existing Chandelier bulbs and 32,000 Accent Strip LEDs were used to add accent to the Grand Stair Case in the Buckingham Palace. The LED lights provided the benefit of low energy consumption, low maintenance costs and safe UV free lighting for their many priceless paintings and old world treasures.

We are also proud to have contributed to lighting the set of the Grammy-award-winning musical Wicked. The nature of a traveling set posed many drawbacks to using incandescent light. Bulbs often broke, burned out and needed replacement. LEDtronics provided an LED alternative that would withstand the wear of travel and achieve a truer color for sets such as the abundantly green Emerald City.

Another east coast project included LEDtronics partnership with the Anacostia Waterfront Initiative to light the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge. Washington D.C. implemented the Initiative to clean up the Anacostia River and its waterfronts. The 55-year old bridge had fallen subject to decay and the project set out to restore and light it with custom decorative LED lighting that would last longer, consume less energy and beautify the night skyline.

These notable projects, along with many others make LEDtronics one of the industry’s most innovative and reliable LED manufacturers today.

The LEDtronics LED Street Light Solution

By LEDtronics, Inc.

Efficient street lights can transform dangerous streets into safe ones. LED technology can provide the most efficient street lights available with low energy use and long-lasting, bright white light.

While a standard 250 watt HPS (High Pressure Sodium), Street Light will use up to 275 watts including the ballast, the LEDtronics LED replacement unit will only use 82 watts. In addition the HPS lamps will usually last only approximately 8000 hours of usage (2 years at 11 hours per night) until they need to be replaced while the LED light will last 10 plus years. Not only will this save on the cost of replacement lamps and ballasts but also the labor required to change the HPS lamp out four to five times before an LED light would need to be changed.

Ultraviolet light can be harmful to the environment. LED lights do not give off UV light like other conventional HID lamps (High Pressure Sodium, Metal Halide, etc.) and therefore do not attract insects. This also cuts down on cleaning and maintenance costs related to wasps nests or bugs on the lenses of the street lamp.

LED Street lights provide increased nighttime visibility with their pure white light as well as limited light intrusion into residences homes and a high Color Rendering Index that enhances all colors.

We at LEDtronics are currently working on many additional exciting projects for both Electrical and Solar LED Street Light applications. If you are interested in learning more about our street light products and applications, visit www.LEDtronics.com.

LEDtronics Review by Alex

By LEDtronics, Inc.

Summary: They will not be disappointed!!

Review: I work in sales for my company and we use a lot of the products from LEDtronics. They go into the buildings in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia. I've been doing business with LEDtronics for five years, and kept going back to them because they were very responsive and worked really hard to make a good service. I like to recommend their products to customers. I would definitely say that people should try the products out! They will not be disappointed with LEDtronics!

The Faces of LEDtronics

By LEDtronics, Inc.

Cristal Sanchez has a passion for sustainability that extends to both her work and personal life. She has always had the goal to work with a company that promoted environmental health even before the “going green” trend. She was first inspired by a college biology class about humans in the environment. After graduating from Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in International Business Marketing, she found herself in the lighting industry and soon found a home at LEDtronics.

Cristal at Work

Cristal is Product Specialist in Street and Outdoor Lighting. She acts as the first point of contact to a variety of different leads and perspective clients. From a farm owner who wants to light his property to government agencies that need lit parking lots, Cristal works with each client to find out the expectations and goals of their project. She can then make recommendations on which products will best suit their needs. Customer satisfaction is very important to her and LEDtronics, so she will follow up with clients years down the line to make sure the product is still working and satisfactory. According to Larry Rallo, Business Development Manager, “Cristal is highly professional and a very intelligent sales specialist in the lighting category she is responsible for.”

Cristal works on both electrical and solar LED outdoor projects and takes pride in the opportunity to save the client money as well as provide an earth-friendly lighting alternative. She finds herself noticing LEDs everywhere now. Even when she is out in social environments she notices the light around her.

Cristal has only worked at LEDtronics for two years but feels it is home. “Everyone (at LEDtronics) works so well together,” said Cristal. “You do your portion and then it goes on to the next person and they do a great job too.” In the close environment of LEDtronics, collaboration is important to Cristal and the rest of the team. It is more like a family than a company. When Pervaiz Lodhie, President and CEO, gifted Thanksgiving turkeys to all of his employees, Cristal was able to cook her first turkey.

Cristal at Home

Cristal loves anything outdoors. Hiking and going to the beach are among her favorites. She also enjoys photography as a hobby. “Ever since I can remember I have always liked to pick up a camera and take pictures.” She likes photographing anything that holds beauty to her and then displaying it around her house. She also enjoys flying with her boyfriend in his small piper aircraft. While she has taken the controls before, she prefers to just enjoy the ride. They like planning trips together or being spontaneous and just ending up in the sky.

Cristal’s Green Solutions

Staying true to her passion for sustainability, Cristal tries to reduce her carbon footprint at home. Here are some of the tips and habits she stands by:

  • Recycle papers and plastics
  • Try not to let the water run; turn it off and on during a shower, while brushing teeth, washing dishes, etc.
  • Shop with reusable grocery bags
  • When purchasing ice-cream, ask for a cone to avoid using Styrofoam cups.
  • Reuse magazines & catalogues for arts and crafts. I especially enjoy making envelops for greeting cards.
  • Don't throw clothes away. I donate to the Salvation Army.
  • Use vinegar & baking soda for cleaning purposes instead of chemical agents

Did You Know? LEDtronics Has Been Creating the Future of Light Since 1983

By LEDtronics, Inc.

Our company was founded In 1983 by Pervaiz Lodhie and his wife Almas in their home in Torrance, CA. Pervaiz is a third generation engineer who was born in India and raised in Pakistan. He was driven to the US by his entrepreneurial spirit and innovative nature. although LED lights at the time were much dimmer than today, Pervaiz recognized their potential to be a revolutionary solution to the many drawbacks of the common incandescent bulb. Faced with the challenge to innovate the future of light, he became one of the first to retrofit LED technology into a replacement bulb.

Originally, LEDs replaced incandescent bulbs in indicator lights used in aircrafts and broadcast equipment. We, at LEDtronics have taken the single use LED light and transformed it into thousands of applications and over 10,000 LED products.

Over the past 29 years, we have conducted business with 80% of the Fortune 500 Companies and distinguished ourselves in the lighting industry by our dedication to our customers’ specific needs.

While evolving into one of the world’s leading manufacturers of LED Lighting Products, we have managed to remain a USA Manufacturer. When the threat of low-cost overseas competitors presented itself, instead of turning to the quick-fix, Lodhie developed his own business model to preserve both his employee’s jobs and his USA manufacturing facility.

LEDtronics has been creating the future of light since 1983 and we pride ourselves on providing the most efficient and earth friendly lighting source in the present and future.
