LEDtronics Adds New PAR30 LED Bulb
04-JUN-09

LEDtronics of Torrance, California USA, has added the latest addition to its line of PAR30 LED bulbs. The white body, medium beam device is comprised of five 3-W LEDs. The company says it replaces filament-based PAR30 bulbs and can fit in a standard 26-mm Edison screw-in base. LEDtronics notes that light optimized design of the bulb can produce up to 337 lm of vivid warm-white light. It has a 25° beam and runs on a voltage ranging from 85 to 260 VAC and can be used anywhere in the world in which a bulb with a 26mm Edison screw-in base can fit.

Qualified customers can get versions of the bulb that operate with forward currents of 12 VAC or VDC. LEDtronics says that the rugged lamp is a direct screw-in replacement for 50- to 75-W PAR30 incandescent or halogen bulbs, but typically has a maximum power draw of only 8.5 W which would be up to an 85% energy savings on a 75-W PAR 30 (assuming an analogous light output). According to the company, the device has an efficacy of 40 lm/W at 141 mA and has a color-rendering index of 83. It is reportedly suitable for use in floodlights and other household and commercial light fixtures.

The company says that the RoHS and CE compliant LED bulb can be used in applications such as: recess or track lighting, accent lighting, general area lighting, architectural and landscape lighting, display case fixtures and cabinet lighting, signage spotlighting and backlighting, aerospace lighting systems, industrial OEM equipment lighting, biomedical applications and truck-bay dock lighting.
