TORRANCE, CA — July 9, 2001 — LEDtronics® combines the renowned reliability of LEDs with a flexible carrier to provide dependable
illumination for channel letters and similar signage applications. In addition
to reducing power usage by 80% - 90%, PathLEDs™ eliminate many of
the shortcomings of neon or fluorescent lamps such as heat, broken tubes
and ballast failures. Individual LEDs feature 140º-wide viewing angles,
and emit bright illumination that fills the entire letterform. LEDs are
wired in parallel and function independently so if one LED fails, the remaining
LEDs continue to operate!
Standard voltages range from 2V to 28V. PathLED™ comes on EIA-standard, 8mm,
seven-foot reels and may be cut to any length. Select from three sizes of
LEDs: (1) 5mm, (2) 3mm or (3) SMT. Spacing options for the LEDs are 3, 6
and 12 inches. LEDtronics offers PathLED™s in six colors, several related
hues and intensities. Colors available are Green (565nm), Red (660nm), Yellow
(585nm), Blue (430nm), Orange (612nm) and White (8000K). In addition to
channel-letter applications, PathLED™ may be used in buildings, bridges,
amusement parks, theaters, stairways, emergency exit pathway lighting, etc.
. . . PathLED™ is immune to RF interference. Custom colors, spacing configurations
and voltages may be built with factory approval.
Solid-state design renders LEDs impervious to shock, vibration, frequent
switching and environmental extremes. With an average life span of 100,000-plus
hours (11 years), LED lamps operate more than 20 times longer than the equivalent
incandescent lamp! Savings from reduced maintenance costs and downtime quickly
